Elizabeth Flats is a 3-suite, 1936 art-deco building in Katoomba, in
the Blue
Mountains 100 km. west of Sydney, Australia. Flat 3 is available for
short-term holiday rentals. Elizabeth Flats is located on a quiet residential street and is perfectly situated for a holiday: the shops and cafes of the town are a 10-minute walk to the north, while Echo Point -- one of the most famous scenic spots in Australia -- is a ten-minute walk to the south. The hiking trails of Blue Mountains National Park (a World Heritage Site) and attractions like the Scenic Railway and aerial tramway are within easy walking distance. From Katoomba, it is an easy trip by car or train to the other towns and sites of the Blue Mountains. Sydney, Australia's biggest city, is 1-1/2 hours away by car or 2 hours by City's Rail's electric trains. Katoomba's train station is a 15-minute walk from the Elizabeth Flats, and trains run more than a dozen times a day. Katoomba's climate is drier and cooler than Sydney's, avoiding the humidity of the summer. The air in the mountains at nearly 1100 metres above sea level is crisp and clean throughout the year. Many people visit the mountains in the autumn (in May and June) to see the spectacular colours of the many exotic trees, and in September and October to see the spring-flowering rhododendrons.
